The Mediterranean Global Ocean Observing System

MAMA MeetingThe Mediterranean Global Ocean Observing System is a regional alliance of leading marine institutions founded under the auspices of the UNESCO/Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) to provide a concerted approach and common framework for the planning and implementation of the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS) in the Mediterranean to the benefit of all coastal states in the region.

Announcement: EWAVES Conference

The Oceanography Centre of the University of Cyprus in collaboration with the Atmospheric Modelling and Weather Forecasting Group, Department of Physics, University of Athens, Greece; Ocean Analysis and Prediction Lab – USA Naval Postgraduate School; Cyprus Energy Agency; and the Meteorological Service of Cyprus; announce the organization of an International Workshop on Wave Energy Potential in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea: Quantification and Exploitation.

MedGOOS 10th Assembly and Seminar on coastal modelling

On the occasion of the 10th MedGOOS Annual meeting and the MOON Assembly (3-5th March 2010) that will be held in Istanbul, a half-day seminar on numerical coastal modelling experiences for the Mediterranean is being organised by the MedGOOS Secretariat.
